Support the Archbishop King in replacing his stolen saxophone:
Four weeks ago, Archbishop King’s beloved Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone, which he has played for over 50 years, was stolen from his doorstep in San Francisco. This cherished instrument was a cornerstone of his musical ministry, and also carried profound historical significance — the mouthpiece is a gift from Alice Coltrane and previously used by John Coltrane.
The Archbishop Reverend Franzo King with his wife Reverend Mother Marina King created & founded the Saint John Coltrane Church San Francisco, a spiritual organization, serving the San Francisco Bay Area and International community for 60 years in San Francisco. Along with this continued ongoing service, they have also established in San Francisco the John Coltrane Arts Foundation, dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of Coltrane’s music as a sacred and transformative art form.
We humbly seek your support in raising funds for replacing this special instrument of the same type and quality. Your generosity will restore a vital piece of Archbishop King’s musical ministry, and will also serve as a tribute to the 60th anniversary of ‘A Love Supreme’ (1965-2025) and John Coltrane’s timeless contribution to the highest order of artistic and spiritual expression.
Funds will be used to acquire a Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone.
With deep gratitude and A Love Supreme,
Archbishop Reverend Franzo King
Reverend Mother Marina King
