Help Rescue a Family from War-Torn Gaza

Donation protected

Hi everyone, my name is Mohammed Hamdouna. I am a Palestinian living in Melbourne, Australia.

In the north of Gaza, my family is facing unimaginable challenges amidst the ongoing aggression. My sister, Manal, and her husband, Essam, are trapped in Beit Lahiya, north Gaza alongside their four children, Alaa (17), Mahmoud (14), Rima (11) and Jouri (6).

Tragically, their world has been shattered – their home destroyed, their possessions lost, and the eldest son, Alaa, a brave young man, is suffering from a gunshot wound with no medical assistance or care.

My sister, Manal, a pharmacist by trade, is now spending all hours taking care of her family, feeding them with whatever is available. It's becoming more difficult day by day to gain access to basic food necessities due to the strict blocking of aid into the strip.

My brother in law, Essam, originally in IT, now wakes up every morning in order to charge their phones so they can maintain communication with us.

My nephews Alaa & Mahmoud, 17 & 14 forced to grow up quickly, now have the responsibility of securing food & whatever available water for their family each day, waking up at 4 am.

Each morning when our family leaves their shelter they face the threat of drone strikes, encounters with the occupation army and countless other dangers. It is a miracle they are still alive.

My two nieces, Rima & Jouri are full of life, despite the ongoing aggression. Subjected to seeing the worst atrocities of the modern world, their childhood is gone, abruptly halted by the grim reality of the situation in Gaza.

My nieces and nephews shouldn’t be fighting for their lives day in and day out. Everyday shouldn’t be a struggle to just get by. Never in our wildest dreams did we think that we would be in this position.

These past months have been some of the most difficult times my family has faced. We wake up each morning frantically checking our phones to make sure our family is alive and safe. Our family is suffering and there seems to be no end in sight.

Manal and her family live in constant fear, yearning for a safer tomorrow. Your support can be the beacon of hope they desperately need. By contributing to this fundraiser, you're not just helping them escape the chaos but offering a chance at a new beginning, far from the terrors of war.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 AUD. Of which, $65,000 will cover the fees to Egypt for Manal, Essam, Alaa, Mahmoud, Rima, and Jouri.
$18,000 of that amount will cover their travel costs to Australia and the remainder will assist them in setting with a home so they can begin to rebuild their lives and find some sense of normalcy. A portion of these funds will also go towards GoFundMe fees.

We ensure full transparency with all funds and promise to provide a complete account of how each dollar is spent.

Each donation, no matter the size, brings our family one step closer to safety.

We thank you for taking the time to read this and should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Join us in making a difference, and let's show them that compassion knows no borders.
