My husband is a United States Veteran. He served in the U.S. Army for 10 years as a Paratrooper Infantryman. His jumping out of planes has resulted in severe damage to his knees and back. He also suffers with PTSD along with many other disabilities. He has been fighting to get 100% disability through the VA since 2015. He has now been denied 5x and we are still fighting to get him approved. One of the reasons he needs 100% disability benefits is to get dental coverage. This is huge for him because he has no top teeth, and his bottom teeth are about to fail! So, back in 2020 my husband underwent a surgery to remove his teeth and have implants placed. Our dentist delayed putting the permanent teeth in for about a year which prolonged the process and caused more harm. It gave time for the implants to start to fail, so when the teeth finally went in, the bone graft began to fail. This made the implants so weak that all of his upper teeth came out one day when he sneezed! My husband went to a new periodontist and started everything all over again from ground zero. He has had the remaining implant pulled and 2 surgeries to regrow his bone graft and now he is ready for implants and teeth. However, this procedure is very expensive and we can’t afford it. We have a big family and it takes everything we make to provide for our 7 kids (3 are adopted). My husband is very young, only 43 years old. He is a phenomenal man. He’s truly extraordinary, honorable, and always puts everyone before himself. He goes above and beyond for his family and friends, it has been detrimental to be without teeth all these years. Please help him get his teeth back so that he can eat and enjoy food again. So he can smile in every picture again. So he can go to outings and not be self conscious about his teeth and thinking everyone is looking at his mouth as he talks. No one should have to live without teeth. He deserves so much and he truly believes he will die without teeth. We have been fighting the VA and our current insurance only covers so much. For someone who risked so much for our nation, we are asking for a small gift that would give him back so much more. Please consider making a contribution to his dental fund to thank him for his service.
