Help Restore Access for Jasper's Family
Donation protected
Our son Josh and his wife Jessi live in Asheville, NC. Their son Jasper, and his wife Ashton, and 6-month old son live in nearby Weaverville, just across Reems Creek. When Hurricane Helene struck, the creek, like all of the waterways in WNC, exceeded any previously recorded or imagined flood levels. The storm waters overwhelmed banks, roads, structures, and bridges. The bridge to Jasper’s, and five other households, was washed away. The destruction in the area is unfathomable. Until the creek’s banks are restored and the bridge can be rebuilt, all six families have to use a steep, dirt access road, which needs extensive engineering, grading, and gravel in order to be passable through the winter. Funds raised from this campaign will be used for Josh’s family’s contribution to the expenses. They have applied for disaster relief funds from FEMA; the need for funds in the area is astronomical, and there is no indication that they will receive federal assistance with the cost of replacing the bridge.
