Support a Family Displaced by the Altadena Eaton Canyon Fire

Donation protected

My name is Teedra Moses, and I’m reaching out to ask for your support for my sister, Tamia Moses, and her two children, Jax (14) and Jai (8), who tragically lost everything in the Altadena Eaton Canyon Wildfires on January 8th, 2025. These devastating fires destroyed their home, all their personal belongings, and even their community.

Like many others in Southern California, Tamia and her children are facing an unimaginable crisis. They evacuated their home in the early hours, thinking they would return. Unfortunately, the entire neighborhood was consumed by the flames, including her son’s school and their grandparents’ house, which was just around the corner. Miraculously, our older sister’s house survived, but the entire area is now uninhabitable, and this is where Tamia’s support system lived.
This fire has affected not just my sister, but our entire family. Tamia has always been the one to lend a hand, even when she had very little herself. Over the years, she worked tirelessly to create a safe, stable home for her children after they were forced to leave their previous residence due to severe mold infestation that was making her son sick. After months of instability, including staying in hotel rooms, she finally found a place to call home and even built a studio and office for our family business. Tragically, all of it is now gone.

As a result of this catastrophe, my sister is now faced with the challenge of starting over from scratch. With 15,000+ people displaced by these wildfires, the recovery will be incredibly difficult. Southern California is an expensive place to live, and Tamia is struggling to find a stable, permanent home for her children. Her 14-year-old daughter Jai has already returned to school, and it is critical for her well-being and sense of normalcy that they stay near her high school. Jai plays soccer, and continuing her school and sports activities is crucial during such a traumatic time.
The road to recovery will take time, but with your help, we can ease some of the burdens. My sister, Tamia, is strong, but she’s never faced a challenge like this. She has always helped others, even when she had little to give. Now, she needs our help to rebuild her life and the lives of her children. The goal of this fundraiser is to help them find a new home, replace the essentials they’ve lost, and provide a little stability as they rebuild their lives.

Please consider donating whatever you can—every dollar counts. Your support will not only provide financial relief, but also hope, as Tamia and her children work to rebuild after the destruction of the Altadena fires. Together, we can help them start fresh and give Jai and Jax the security they need to feel safe again.

Thank you so much for your generosity, and please share this campaign with your friends and family. Let’s show this incredible family the power of community and kindness during their darkest hour.

With gratitude,
Teedra Moses
