Help Restore Lauren's Smile

Dear Bear Lake Reserve Family,
Whether you own a home or frequently vacation at Bear Lake Reserve, chances are high that you have met the dynamic husband and wife duo of Adam and Lauren Blankenship. Adam (now our Lodging Director) has been with Bear Lake Reserve since the very beginning, working in a variety of different departments with every single developer that has owned our community. Lauren has also been an invaluable member of our team over the last few years, overseeing housekeeping and other vital tasks as our Lodging Manager. They even got married here at Bear Lake Reserve 7 years ago! Their story is deeply intertwined with the story of Bear Lake Reserve, and our community would not be the same without them. Now, they need our help.
Lauren went to the dentist in April 2022 for some dental work, but unfortunately the procedure did not go as planned. Not only were 26 of her teeth removed without anesthesia, but permanent damage was done to her jaw from drilling too far on each side. This has permanently damaged Lauren’s once vibrant smile, which is why she now wears a mask in public.
After months of searching for the right dentist to help her, Lauren and Adam found a highly qualified and certified cosmetic dentist in Clyde, North Carolina. Dr. John Highsmith is one of only five accredited members of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in North Carolina, a Diplomate of The International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), and a fellow in the Misch Implant Institute. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Western NC Dental Society, and the NC Dental Society. Dr. Highsmith has given Lauren hope that dental implants can restore her smile. However, the cost of the procedure is high, and they require payment in full before scheduling the surgery.
The total cost of the surgery is $65,750. Lauren and her family have been saving what they can ($4,500), but they still need to raise a significant amount to cover the total cost. Due to past credit issues, they have been unable to obtain assistance through any other means. Lauren also recently endured surgery for a double hernia, which caused complications that required further hospitalization. She is now at home, resting and recovering.
We are graciously asking for your support in helping Lauren get the dental surgery she needs. Please donate any amount that you are able to afford and share this campaign with your friends and family to help spread the word. Every penny goes a long way towards restoring the smile, confidence, and quality of life that our dear friend deserves.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us support Lauren and Adam during their time of need.
