Help Restore Marquee for Asheville's Artists
Donation protected
Marquee was created as a highly curated art and design marketplace on Foundy Street in the heart of Asheville's River Arts District. The overarching mission of Marquee was to provide support for artistically-oriented entrepreneurs by providing vending space, central sales, marketing and shipping services. We also hosted events and served as a community hangout with a beer and wine bar, nonalcoholic lounge and restaurant in the works. In our short three years, we were home to over 300 artists, makers, antique dealers and small business owners. This loss will have a huge impact on their lives and on Asheville's vibrant, creative landscape. We want to rebuild! For all of us.
Our beloved building on Foundy Street is an old 50,000 square foot warehouse -- our perfect home. Please visit our website where you can view photos and a 3D tour of how special it was. As Hurricane Helene made impact, flood debris crashed into the building tearing down the back walls and blowing through the entrance, while 15 feet of water inside the building destroyed everything -- all of our interior buildout, custom gallery walls and enclosures, sales counters, office, shipping room, sculptural elements, etc. Of course, all of our artists lost nearly everything.
Your kind donations will go entirely to rebuilding the infrastructure needed to support our local artists, makers and antique dealers. With your support, we can again welcome our community through our doors and continue to celebrate Asheville's unique art scene.
In the wake of Helene, we want Marquee to be one of the first buildings brought back to Foundy Street; to have it serve as a beacon of hope for those trying to rebuild and to preserve it as a unique space for art and community.
Please consider donating to help us rebuild. Thank you for loving Marquee; we can't wait to welcome you back.
