Help Restore Mountain Paradise Gardens and Nursery
Donation protected
Mountain Paradise Gardens in Ashe County North Carolina has been greatly impacted by Hurricane Helene. As most will already know the Barker family and their nursery have been a staple of the high country for over 30 years and growing. During the storm they lost 2 greenhouse/cold frames along with many of their native and exotic plant species, fruit trees, and root stock.
The Barker's home and greater farm sustained water and wind damage as well. They lost the bridge to their home and water entered both their barn and home.
The Barkers have begun the clean up and recovery of their farm, but financial assistance is needed to rebuild in any hope of being ready to serve our community for next growing season. This gofundme page is specifically to help make emergency repairs and purchase replacement starter plants.
Anything is helpful!
The outpouring of support has already begun to make an amazing impact to start the rebuilding process, however this week Mountain Paradise got some disheartening news. There will be no monetary relief support for containerized nurseries aka Mountain Paradise so we need to extend the goal to help rebuild the stock plants to grow more for future seasons.
If you are looking for other ways to help Mountain Paradise will be selling some of their prized Sarracennia via auction on ebay in the coming days.
