Help Restore My River Arts District Studio
Donation protected
On September 27, Hurricane Helene and subsequent flooding destroyed a huge swath of the River Arts District in Asheville, including my work-space in Warehouse Studios at 170 Lyman Street, where I have been painting since 1998. I was able to salvage just a few paintings that were hung high on the wall. But everything else - 70 paintings, supplies, tools, electronics, furnishings - is gone.
I have applied for some grants, but also decided to do this GFM to try to raise some cash for startup costs and to help with rent. I can't replace the inventory I lost, but I am confident I can set up the studio again and continue the work I have done there over the course of 26 years.
Although I lost a lot, I remind myself that I have placed my art in homes, corporate collections and museums for years, so my work lives on despite the destruction of recent paintings.
In the wake of this disaster, I would like to get going again, and your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
