Help Restore Our Community's Beloved Restaurant

Donation protected
Dear Sacramento Community,

My name is Daniel, and I am the owner of I Love Teriyaki Midtown, a small family-owned restaurant that my wife and I have managed for over 13 years, keeping it in business for a total of 26 years now. Originally from Hawaii and Korea, we moved to Sacramento and bought I love teriyaki and have been proud to serve quality Japanese American food at affordable prices to this wonderful community ever since.

We have built more than just a restaurant—we’ve created a home filled with neighbors, friends, regulars, excited new customers, and generations of families. It’s a place where memories are made and shared, and we are truly grateful to be a part of this community.

Recently, we experienced a heartbreaking setback: our restaurant was burglarized. This has been a difficult blow to us as a small business, especially after the many challenges we've faced in recent years.

On top of these struggles, I survived a stroke recently, which has limited my ability to be as hands-on as I used to be.

Despite it all, we’ve continued to keep our doors open because we believe in providing a place where you can rely on a quick and delicious lunch—healthy or indulgent—or an affordable dinner for your family. We love being a part of this community and want to continue serving you for many more years to come.

However, to repair the damages, replace stolen equipment, and secure our business for the future, we’re in need of your help. We’ve always prided ourselves on getting through tough times on our own, but today, I am reaching out for support from the community we’ve loved serving for so long.

Any amount would make a difference and help us get back on our feet. If you aren’t able to contribute, we would deeply appreciate it if you could share our story.

As a small token of appreciation, for anyone who donates $100 or more to our GoFundMe, we’d like to offer 30% off your order when you come in to dine with us. It’s our way of saying thank you for helping us get through this challenging time and for believing in us.

Thank you so much for your generosity and support.

Sincerely,

Daniel Takata
