Help Restore Our Homestead After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
Hi my name is Stephanie, I have a family of three. My husband, my daughter and I. We live on a beautiful homestead in Del Rio TN. Friday morning we were hit by hurricane Helene. In the east tennessee which is unheard of here. We were not prepared. We woke up to the creek higher then we have ever seen it. No big deal we will just move our vehicles to higher ground we thought. With in thirty minutes of us moving the vehicles we were in chest high water all around us. It was a we could do to evacuate our family out of our property. We had to do a swift water rescue walk just to get out. Absolutely insane. By the end of it all we had six feet of standing water all over our property. Just Absolutely insane for a property that's not supposed to flooding. The aftermath has just been devastating we have lost everything but our lives which I am greatful for. For days now we have been shoveling out muck and ripping out carpets, getting rid of mattresses full of water, furniture full of water, the list seems endless. Now is time to rebuild but we are struggling to afford things to get this project moving because it is just so overwhelming. We need dump truck loads of gravel. Those are a $1000 a load we need at least four probably, we need equipment to move muck, we need construction materials the list goes on and on. We lost our live stock which is just heart breaking. I am not one to ask for help but we didn't have flood insurance being that our property was not suppose to flooding. We started to apply for FEMA but they haven't declared our area a National Disaster yet so we can not get any assistance from that either. This just leaves me devastated and hoping the beautiful people of this world will help us rebuild. Appreciate anything you can do. It will all help getting us back I to our house and not living on friends ccouches. Please help me get my homestead back. Much love to all in this devastating time.
