Help Restore the Blueberry Patch: A Creative Haven Since 1977 -
Sharevival for Survival
The Blueberry Patch in Gulfport, Florida, has been a vibrant space for art, music, and community for nearly five decades. It is run by the 501c3 nonprofit organization Sharevival at the Blueberry Patch. The term Sharevival was coined by our founder Dallas Bohrer who said as a community we need to Share to Survive and Survive to Share.
Since 1977, we’ve stood as a haven for free expression, creativity, and togetherness—a home for artists, dreamers, and everyone in between. Sadly, Hurricane Milton has left us facing unprecedented damage, and we need your help to rebuild this cherished sanctuary. We truly need our community to help us by Sharing for the Patch's Survival so the Patch can get back to Surviving to Share the wonderful music, art, energy, and community which we all receive from the Patch.
What We’re Facing:
The storm wreaked havoc, leaving over almost 2 dozen towering Australian pines, each standing 100 feet tall and weighing nearly 2000 lbs, fallen or dangerously hanging. Some have collapsed onto neighboring warehouses, walls, fences, art installations, and seating areas creating a critical situation. Clearing these trees and the debris is just the start.
We need to raise $77,711 to:
- Remove hazardous trees and branches, ensuring the safety of the Patch and neighboring properties (estimates indicate it will be $60-70K for tree removal alone).
- Rebuild our beloved art structures and create new spaces for creativity to thrive.
- Replace lighting systems and equipment vital to our events.
- Clear walkways and seating areas to restore spaces for community interaction and enjoyment.
- Purchase and plant new trees and bushes so the the Patch can regain it's vibe and energy as a natural sanctuary.
- Purchase and replace pavilions and canopies throughout the patch.
- The damage may be severe, but the spirit of the Blueberry Patch is not broken. We’re calling on our community and supporters to help us restore this iconic space so we can continue to serve as a beacon of creativity and connection.
Why It Matters:
For nearly 50 years, the Blueberry Patch has been more than just a venue—it’s a cornerstone of the Gulfport community. Generations have come together here to share music, art, and ideas. It’s a place where anyone can be free to express themselves, find inspiration, and connect with others.
By contributing, you’re not just helping us clear the debris; you’re becoming a part of the Blueberry Patch’s rich legacy. You’re ensuring that future generations will have a place to explore their creativity and experience the magic that has kept us alive for so long.
