Help Restore Unique Appeal Hair Salon: A Community Staple

On 11/21/2024, in the early morning hours, Unique Appeal Hair Salon was unexpectedly burned to the ground.

Unique Appeal has been a staple in the community for nearly 30 years, serving many women and men with their hair care and other cosmetology needs - enhancing the beauty and confidence of all who stepped foot into the shop. Unique Appeal has also sought to give young people in school, who are interested in cosmetology, opportunities to learn and grow in their skills by mentoring them while they work part-time and gain hands-on experience in the field. Its owner, Rachelle Russell (Chelle), and many of the other stylists have made it their duty day after day to make their customers feel at home and appreciated by creating a professional yet fun, family-friendly environment. This unfortunate incident is a huge loss to those who call Unique Appeal home and to the Black community at large, but we are hopeful for the restoration of this Black-owned business.

We are seeking help from the community to raise money in an effort to fix the damages caused by the fire so that we can restore what was lost. The shop will need a complete reworking as the damage was severe. Any little bit that you can donate is appreciated.
