Restore running water to my mothers home.
Hello everyone,
My name is Shinnerrie and I am raising funds for my mother Melody Jackson to repair the well on her land and restore running water to her home. About four weeks ago she went to take a bath and nothing but sand came out of the faucet leaving her and my brother Vandy with no running water at all.
Upon closer inspection and a professional assessment we were told that our well had collapsed and would need to be rebuilt.
The land has been in our family since the early 1900s and the house is my mothers childhood home. My brother Vandy lives with her and she has two wonderful women that are also her caretakers. We would like to be able to fix the well and keep everything going in the house but we need your help. Not only do we have to fix the well, we also will need a new pump and hot water heater as both are filled with sand. The estimate to do the above and: get all the permits and a water inspection is close to $8000. We as a family are unable to foot all of the bill so we are petitioning friends, family, and friends of friends for aide. Whatever you can give is much appreciated to restore running water to my mothers home. Because of the dire situation we would like to be able to get started on the well repair in the next two weeks. My mother has contacted all the proper authorities to get county approved contractors; we have chosen Partridge Well Drilling in Florida.
For those of you wondering about going through charitable organizations or a city sponsored program; we have reached out and gone through the application processes but they all were a dead end.
This may seem like an archaic problem to some but there are many homes in the United States that still rely on wells to provide running water. I hope you can take the time out to help. The donation to GoFundMe is tax deductible and we will send you frequent updates during the rebuild process.
