Help Restore Southampton Village's WWI Memorial
Donation protected
Dear Village Residents and Community Members,
The Southampton Village World War One monument in Agawam Park is a landmark in our Village and, more importantly, a tribute to honor those brave men and women who served our country. Over the past decade, the monument has sustained some damage due to various external environmental factors.
The Board of Trustees hired VHB Engineering to provide a survey and work plan to preserve and restore the Agawam WW1 Memorial to its original glory.
Renovation of the Memorial will include removing and replacing a ceiling beam and replacing side landing areas and the northern steps. There will also be additional, more minor repairs to the entire structure.
Work is currently estimated to cost in the area of $400,000.00. The Village is hoping to secure grant funding and private donations to assist in the cost of this project. We greatly appreciate your consideration, generosity, and support for this critical initiative. Thank you for investing in our community.
