Help Retiz Thomashow Family Rebuild
Donation protected
Some have heard, but the Retiz/Thomashow family has been displaced from their home due to a house fire that took place and burnt down the entire house next door to their new home. The fire ultimately left one person dead and another injured from jumping out of a second story window. Gaga Linda was at home with Gus and Lola when the fire broke out and will tell you various stories about big flames and emergencies. They are so thankful that grandma Linda got them out quickly and that they had friends and family close by that ran to help Linda.
Tommy and Amanda’s unit shares a fence/property line with with the affected neighbors and have lost everything that was in their backyard and will most likely have to replace all of Gus and Lola’s clothes, toys and furniture due to cross contamination (possible asbestos since the house that burned down was built in 1920), water and smoke damage. Their home needs new windows, rafters, walls and a substantial cleanup.
We all know that a little help goes a long way and if you can help support them through the unknown next weeks it would be greatly appreciated. They will need help with housing, food, clothes and everyday needs.
From Tommy and Amanda: “Thank you for all of your texts, messages and phone calls of concern and well wishes over the last few days. We have felt immense love and caring from everyone in our lives.”
