Help Return Angel Lata Landi to Ecuador
Donation protected
Angel Lata Landi is one of three people stabbed to death in Manhattan on November 18. He was a 36-year-old construction worker from Ecuador who provided for his family, through paying rent and sending money to his mother in Ecuador who is enduring cancer treatment.
According to a New York Times article by Shayla Colon, in his last phone call to his mother a day before his death, “his mother said between wrenching sobs, he asked her forgiveness for not being able to send money that week and for making her suffer.”
Angel had dreams of getting married and having kids. He cared for his 16-year-old nephew whose mother had passed, and he looked after his family. His family would like to memorialize him properly in Ecuador. However, taking Angel’s body back to Ecuador could cost up to $15,000. Although I don’t personally know Angel or his family, this story really struck me. I want his family to be able to take Angel’s body back to Ecuador and to also support Angel’s mother in her cancer treatment. Please donate if you have the capacity to and share with others.
