Help Reunite a Beloved Pet with Their Owner

My soon to be ex surrendered our dog who we share 50/50 ownership to. After weeks of contacting the rescue, offering to pay and be vetted, supply paper work, anything, they have done nothing but block me and deny my application due to Remy being 2 month past due on his rabies.

I was wrongfully terminated in February, then filed for divorce in July, Remy was surrendered 09/7, I contacted NS4AR on 09/28 and it took them almost a month to respond.

I hired an attorney then the next day Pam Caldwell (president of NS4AR) sends me an email that Remy backed out of his harness chasing a deer in South Carolina.

Now we are filing the Replevin W Negligence, and the court + time will be more :(

retainer is 3800 + flights in the next 14 days for trial.

To add negligence attorney fees are an additional ~2,500.

way too often am I hearing of stories just like mine. Rescues refusing to return wrongfully surrendered pets to their owners and I refuse to condone this behavior. We need stricter laws and regulations on pets but most importantly we need pets to be considered companions and not just property. They have a sense of wellbeing and we should be able to advocate for the best interest of our animals.
