Help reunite our Family! Fighting for Justice and Healing!
Donation protected
We are a blended family of five—two loving parents, a 10-month-old baby girl, a bright and kind 10-year-old boy, and a sweet, spirited 5-year-old girl. Our family has faced unimaginable challenges, but we’ve always leaned on each other for strength. Now, we’ve been torn apart, and we are fighting for justice, healing, and the chance to be whole again. We need your help.
A Family Devastated by Tragedy and Systemic Injustice
In January of this year, our family faced an unimaginable tragedy. The children’s mother passed away. This heartbreak came just as we were settling into life with our newborn daughter. In a single moment, our children lost their mother, their sense of stability, and the innocence of childhood joy.
Our family was already navigating the difficult process of grieving and adjusting to this life-altering event when CPS (Child Protective Services) entered our lives. What began as a misunderstanding quickly escalated into a nightmare. Our 5-year-old was removed from our home in an unlawful action that has torn apart the fragile bonds we were working so hard to rebuild.
For the first time, our children—who had already lost their mother—were separated from each other. They lost the siblings they clung to for comfort and the only two parents they had left.
Traumatized, Arrested, and Fighting Back
CPS didn’t stop with the removal of our 5-year-old. After we filed official complaints to hold them accountable, they retaliated by reopening closed cases, launching new baseless investigations, and escalating accusations against us. Despite the lack of evidence and the fact that we are loving, caring parents, their actions culminated in the arrest of both my husband and me on fabricated felony charges.
We were thrown into handcuffs and dragged out of our home while our children watched, crying and powerless to stop it.
The Impact on Our Children
Our 5-year-old, already grieving the loss of her mother, has been forcibly separated from her siblings and her home. She doesn’t understand why this is happening and has been denied the safety and love she needs to heal.
Our 10-year-old son, who has taken on so much emotional weight during this crisis, is now coping with the absence of his sister and the stability he once knew. As the eldest sibling, he’s tried to remain strong, but the toll on him is evident.
This is a nightmare no child should endure.
Why We Need Your Help
We are fighting a legal battle to reunite our family and hold CPS accountable for their actions, but the costs are overwhelming. We are facing mounting legal fees, court expenses, and the financial burden of navigating this crisis.
We need your help to:
• Cover legal fees to fight the false charges and advocate for our children’s return.
• Secure expert legal representation to appeal CPS’s decisions and protect our parental rights.
• Provide resources and counseling for our children, who are experiencing deep emotional trauma. Family Counseling would be a bonus, this has been traumatizing for us all.
How You Can Help
Our goal is to raise $8000 to cover legal costs, and help rebuild our lives. Any amount you can contribute will bring us one step closer to reuniting our family and ensuring our children can heal from this trauma.
Even if you’re unable to donate, sharing our story with your network can make a huge difference. The more people who know about our fight, the closer we come to justice.
From the Bottom of Our Hearts, Thank You
This has been the most difficult fight of our lives, but we refuse to give up. Our children deserve to be safe, loved, and together again. We are humbled and grateful for any support you can provide, whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply keeping us in your thoughts.
Your kindness and generosity will not only help us reunite with our children but will also remind us that we are not alone in this battle.
Sincerely,
The McKnight Family
