Help reunite the Lord-Garnett Family
Hi everyone,
My name is Cara and I’ve brought you here in the hope that we can pull together and relieve some of the financial pressure off my friend Jess and her family!
Why am I asking for your help?
This is the story of an aussie girl (Jess) who was travelling the world and landed teaching work in a class in Notting Hill, London where an Englishman also worked at a primary school. Josh and Jess worked together for the next year and became mates, and as the friendship grew so did their feelings.
They began their relationship in 2016 where they began making memories…
In 2019, beautiful Bonnie was born and they also got married in front of some family and friends (some like me even watched on Facebook Live) and students from that class they both taught.
Later that year, Jess’ visa expired and she and Bonnie had to return to Australia. Josh was soon to follow when he damaged his knee playing soccer, which meant he could not fly.
Not wanting Bonnie to miss out on her first Christmas with both her parents, Jess and Bonnie surprised Josh and flew to London for Christmas 2019 and spent a few weeks with him.
When Jess and Bonnie left Josh in January 2020, they did not know that it would be many, many months before they could be reunited.
COVID hit, Josh’ knee operation was then postponed and then the borders closed. They facetime many times a day and lots of videos and photos are shared, but it is not the same. Josh is still missing out on momentous occasions with Bonnie and his wife.
Remember they are not just a young family but newlyweds too! Josh has been separated from his beautiful wife Jess and 20month old daughter Bonnie since January 2020... that’s 10months and counting...
Thankfully, this week Josh was granted exemption to enter Australia and also a visa. This means Josh can come to Sydney for Christmas!!
But due to COVID restrictions on the entry to Australia flights are scarce. To get Josh out to Sydney is going to cost over $17,000 (over £9000) for the flight and hotel to quarantine in.
As you can imagine, this is a massive increase to what flights usually cost and more than they had been saving for.
Let’s help reunite this amazing family – distance makes the heart grow fonder and they are so keen to be back together and they deserve to be together.
This year has been tough for us all and if COVID has taught us anything, it is that family and friends must stick together (at a safe distance) and be there for one another.
You know they would help us if we were stuck, without a doubt! And that’s why I’ve set this up, so that we can all pitch in and help.
All money donated will bring a little girl her Daddy for Christmas. It will be the long embrace between husband and wife! Priceless memories to add to those they have been creating together since 2016.
Every little bit counts.
Thankyou in advance,
Caz
(best friend to Jess)
