Help Revitalize a Community in Macon, Georgia & Build Dreams

Hi, my name is Phillip Hale, and I’m raising funds to bring hope and opportunity back to a community that has been economically excluded for decades. This project is not just about building a property; it’s about restoring dignity, creating opportunity, and building a brighter future for the residents of South Macon, GA.

What This Project Will Accomplish

Funds from this campaign will be used to purchase a vacant property on the south side of Macon, Georgia, and develop it into a vibrant shopping center or strip mall. The goal is to provide local residents with access to much-needed services, including:

This community has suffered for far too long from a lack of investment and access to basic resources, the result of systemic challenges like redlining and decades of neglect. The Macon Opportunity Project will act as a cornerstone for revitalizing the area, generating economic growth, and fostering a renewed sense of pride and opportunity for its residents.

Why I’m Doing This

This project is personal for me.

I’m a proud father of three, an active community leader, and someone deeply inspired by the values of family, compassion, and community. These values were instilled in me by my incredible mother, Mary, who adopted me when I was just two days old.

She taught me the importance of giving selflessly and helping others, and her lessons have shaped who I am today. Although my mother passed away when I was just 12 years old, her legacy of kindness and generosity lives on through me.

Growing up, my family didn’t have much, but we were rich in love, guidance, and resilience. I know what it feels like to struggle, but I also know what it feels like to overcome those struggles with the support of others. This campaign is my way of paying it forward.

The Urgency of This Project

We’re aiming to reach our goal by March 1, 2025, to:

Begin pre-development preparations for the shopping center, including planning, permits, and initial designs.

This effort is critical to creating real change for South Macon. Without this initial funding, the community will continue to face limited access to essential goods and services, and another opportunity for growth will be lost.
