Help Revive Videography Career after Robbery

Hi everyone, thank you for visiting my fundraiser!

I’m Jess, a business student from Germany. In my heart I know that I belong to the ocean and that my work should contribute to ocean conservation.

That is why I wish to pursue a career as underwater videographer for scientific purposes. This dream has been slowly manifesting. Recently, I invested in a lot of new equipment for videography to be able to tell meaningful stories.

However, during yesterday’s bus ride someone stole my bag with all my equipment, including:

• Sony camera + 5 lenses + accessories
• DJI drone + accessories
• GoPro 9 + accessories
• FPV equipment
• Laptop
• 6 hard drives with 3+ years of footage (not backed up)
• tripod, SD-cards, SD-card reader, …
• diving equipment
• personal documents (passport, etc.)

Together the value of the stolen items amount ~ $9000. A police report has been done. As a student, it took me some time to accumulate the money to afford this equipment and I intended to use it for my further career and my monthly income.

Next month I wanted to embark on my first opportunity to contribute to ocean projects - while working for a coral restoration project in Bocas del Toro, Panama, as a videographer.

Now I feel quite devastated because this is the path I’ve been working towards for the last years and now it’s all gone.

I know that I can overcome the challenge with strength and determination. If you want to support me on my journey then I would be happy about any amount that comes from your heart.
