Reydisa's Family's Third Battle Against Cancer

Originally from the Philippines, Reydisa moved to the U.S. in 2018 to build a future with her husband, Kenneth. In 2019, she was overjoyed to learn she was expecting their first child—but just two months into her pregnancy, she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

Determined to protect her baby, Reydisa followed her doctors' advice and underwent surgery at six months pregnant. Despite the fear and uncertainty, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl in November 2019. But her fight wasn’t over.

In 2022, the cancer returned—this time affecting her vocal cords. Doctors warned her that she might lose her ability to speak, but Reydisa refused to give up. She searched for other options until she found a doctor who gave her and her family hope. As she prepared for surgery, terrifying thoughts lingered: What if they were right? What if she could never speak to her family again? She wouldn’t be able to talk her daughter through the difficult years of growing up. When her daughter got married one day, would she even be able to tell her how proud she was?

These fears faded as she was put to sleep for surgery.

Against the odds, the operation was a success. Thanks to her doctor’s expertise, Reydisa made a miraculous recovery and kept her ability to speak.

In June 2024, Reydisa joined Panda, quickly proving her dedication and earning a promotion to Shift Leader in November. Despite everything she has faced, she continues to bring warmth and positivity to those around her.

Now, at the start of 2025, her family faces yet another challenge. Her husband, Kenneth, has been diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer. After battling cancer twice herself, Reydisa now faces the unimaginable—watching the person she loves fight the same disease.

Even in the face of hardship, she remains strong, spreading kindness and joy in her store. As she supports her husband and cares for their 5-year-old daughter, we want to support her in return.
