Help Rhubarb Beat Mammary Cancer
Donation protected
Hi! I'm Lyss, and pictured is my dog Rhubarb.
We've been through a lot together in her 11.5 years of life! I got her when she was 8 weeks old from a foster rescue. She'd previously been held in a single room with all puppies under the age of one—regardless of size—and was bitten by a larger dog. She was a champion at 8 weeks old and has been one ever since.
Our next journey together is getting her on the mend from her new diagnosis of mammary cancer. She has a large tumor on her left mammary chain that is rapidly growing and needs to be removed. After she heals from the first surgery, we will have a second surgery to remove the entire right mammary chain that has very small tumors starting to grow along the chain.
Though this is devastating news to learn, her prognosis is really good! After the surgery, the tumor will be sent off for pathology to find whether the cancer is malignant or benign. With that information, we can form a more complete plan, but first, SURGERY. Even her doctor said she is otherwise a healthy old lady <3
I'm grateful to have recently saved away a bit of money and can nearly cover the surgery costs; however, I have taken to selling some of my more cherished belongings to cover the remainder.
Some kind people pointed out that those not necessarily in the market for things that I have available may still be willing to donate.
So I am taking to the internet and putting our little story out there. If you are in a position to donate, Rhubarb and I will be forever grateful.
Thank you for taking your time to read this <3
