Help our Future Brother-In-Law, Ricardo, After Eaton Fire

Donation protected
Hi everyone. We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to share what’s happened to someone we love dearly, our soon-to-be brother-in-law Ricardo, and to ask for your support.

Ricardo grew up in Altadena, which has been home to his family for generations. After graduating from UCLA, he purchased his first house in Altadena, the community that means so much to him. Ricardo’s house wasn’t just a home for him; he shared it with his brother, sister-in-law, and their kids. It was a place filled with love, laughter, and memories—a real family home.

Last year, Ricardo got engaged to our sister, Camila, and they started planning their future together. They talked about expanding Ricardo’s house to make room for the life they were building. He even planted a garden to grow fresh berries. Those dreams were alive and growing .

Then, the Eaton Fire happened.

In just one devastating moment, Ricardo lost his home. Everything he’d worked for, everything he’d dreamed about— gone, burned down to ashes.

What’s been even harder is watching someone as kind and selfless as Ricardo go through this. He’s always been the person who gives so much to others without ever asking for anything in return.

Thankfully, his brother, sister-in-law, niece, and nephews made it out safely, and we’re so grateful for that.

Ricardo would never ask for help on his own, but with his blessing, my sister Maria-Lupe and I are stepping in to rally for him.

We're seeking support to cover unexpected costs and to get him back on his feet. These funds will assist with needs that might not be fully covered by other sources of aid.

Your help will allow us to support Ricardo in addressing the many aspects of recovery through this crisis.

Ricardo is one of the most genuine, giving people we know, and we want to help him. Every little bit helps, whether it’s a donation or just sharing this with others who might want to support.

Thank you for reading and for caring. It means the world to us and to Ricardo.
