Help Rich and family with terminal cancer

With permission from Rich & family, we're setting up this fundraiser in order to try and raise as much as possible to support them through the next few months/year after Rich’s terminal diagnosis. While Rich originally did not want help during this time, he has thought about the future of his family.


On September 30th, 2020 Richie was diagnosed with stage 4 small bowel cancer. He  had been deemed terminal with 18 months to live. This has been a sad and difficult time for the Citro family but they are taking life day by day.


Rich is the most kind and loving guy. He is a devoted husband of almost 23 years to his wife Vickey. An outstanding father to his sons Connor (15) and Logan (11). A friend to many and an uncle to myself. He would often take me fishing as a child and dealt with me running away crying every time we actually caught a fish because I was scared lol. Richie is the type of person who would give you the shirt of his back. Which is why it was even hard for him to take this help. 


Rich had spent 15 years being a selfless volunteer firefighter for the city of Ridgefield, NJ. Over the last 20 years he has spent his time working for COSTCO. Due to the extremely aggressive and terminal nature of his cancer and the painful side effects of chemotherapy Rich has been unable to work since September of 2020.  Rich has gone through 11 rounds of chemo so far and will have to continue to get treatment the rest of his life. Unfortunately his disability claim has run out of money and at the moment there are no other options. 


He has brought a smile to many of his co-workers, friends, and families faces. Most could agree it was a pleasure to just be in his company. As I said earlier Rich’s disability claim has ran out of money and he has been denied unemployment assistance. As a hard working individual, it hurts Rich to not be able to work. Over those 15 years as a volunteer firefighter he gave to his community. Now I would like it to be time for his community to give back to him. The funds that will be raised will go to living expenses, medical expenses, etc
