Help Richard Rebuild After Hurricane Helene

Hello, my name is Richard. I've lived and worked on Anna Maria Island for the last 6 years in an apartment right across the street from Tampa Bay. Then Hurricane Helene came. I evacuated to a motel near the Sarasota airport with two suitcases of clothes. Those two suitcases of clothes are all I have left. The storm surge destroyed my apartment, and the wind ripped the roof off. Everything I owned, everything I had, is gone. All I have left is the two suitcases of clothes.

I'm still staying in a motel by the Sarasota airport, but money is running out fast. I'm going to have to start a new life all over again somewhere else as Anna Maria Island has been destroyed and is not going to be habitable for quite some time.

I am starting this GoFundMe account to try and raise money so I can start my life over somewhere else.

The money raised here will specifically be used for temporary housing, food, medication—specifically high blood pressure medication—transportation, and hopefully rent in a new permanent location.
