Help Richard Cover Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Richard and I am fundraising to cover medical expenses related to unexpected heart, lung and bladder issues. Back in September, I ended up with pneumonia and spent a week in the hosptial. Then in February, I came down with congestive heart failure. To top it off, on Memorial Day weekend I came down with bladder problems which landed me in the ER as I was peeing blood. It resulted in me having a catheter for the past month and needing a number of tests.
I have always worked hard my entire life and have prided myself on being able to provide for myself and my family. I never expected to be in a situation where I would need to ask for financial help. I retired 2 years ago from Covanta Seconn in Preston, CT after working there for 30 years as a laborer and have done odd jobs over the years to make ends meet. I am currently getting by on Social Security and waiting to turn 65 in December of 2024 when I can qualify for Medicare. I had planned to get coverage for the two years between retirment and Medicare eleigiblity but when I looked into it, the insurance premium came out to 80% of my social security which would not have left me enough money for food, electricity, oil, gas, car insurance as well as car and property taxes. As a result of this experience, I am planning to sign up for insurance this November when the enrollment window opens up, but will need help covering the past medical expenses as well as the premiums for the one year until I turn 65.
Any help, even the smallest amount, is greatly appreciated.
