Help Richard Webster Overcome Medical Costs

I have known Richard for several years now. He has a very rare, genetic form of Skin Cancer called Gorlin Syndrome - https://medlineplus.gov/genetics/condition/gorlin-syndrome/, which has required weekly to monthly surgeries, to keep it in-check, for over 50-years now. Yes folks, that totals more than 1,000 surgeries. And he has dealt with countless medical problems, some related to the Gorlin Syndrome some not, requiring dozens of major surgeries in addition to those over that same half-century. Fortunately, he has very good insurance, so the copays and deductibles have been affordable.

In spite of what he has dealt with over these last 50-years, he is always there to help anyone that he can – regardless of age, or need.

But, a few days ago, he and his friends got very bad news. The cancer he has has destroyed the outer-ear on the left side, and has spread to an unknown depth in his ear-canal on the left side – perhaps involving the surrounding bone, eardrum, and perhaps more. So, his case has been turned-over, on an urgent emergency basis to a Maxilliofacial/Head & Neck Oncologist and Surgeon. The initial surgery, post-op treatments and care, prosthetic ear, travel to and from the hospital, will be very expensive. And some of it will not be covered by his insurance – being experimental. The copays and deductibles alone will surely total five to six-figures, before the costs not covered by his insurance are added to those.

Having been on Social Security Disability because of the Gorlin surgical needs, limiting his income each month to less than full-time minimum wage, since 1999, he simply does not have the money to cover these costs, and I am hoping that you will help me, help him with these in one or more ways.

As I mentioned, the expected out-of-pocket costs for Richard’s upcoming surgery, treatments, prosthesis is expected to be in the five to six figures.
