Help Richard Yates Battle Stage 4 Lung and Brain Cancer

On January 26th, 2024, I was diagnosed with late stage 4 small cell lung cancer that went to my brain and metastasized over my whole body, pancreas, kidneys, bones, lymph nodes, and adrenal glands. Things moved very rapidly after that. I started brain radiation treatment using a proton particle accelerator therapy for 10 days, overlapped with the start of my chemo treatments, which were every three weeks for three days. I finished the 6 rounds of chemo the last week of May. I then started immunotherapy, which happens once every 3 weeks, but only one day.

Having brain and body scans every three months to check on the cancer showed great results as I responded really well to the chemo. My 8.3cm x 6.4cm x 2cm tumor in my left lung was reduced to 1cm, the brain cancer down to a 2mm speck, and it's gone from the rest of my body minus a 2.5cm spot on my adrenal gland, which is not growing or getting any smaller either, so we are keeping an eye on it with the quarterly body and brain scans and MRIs.

On January 9th, 2025, I went in for my regular immunotherapy, and I was informed by my oncologist that my cancer has come back as the immunotherapy has stopped working. I started chemo again on January 29, 30, and 31st for round 1. I will do 5 more rounds every 3 weeks.

As some of the procedures are not covered by my insurance, I will have to pay for these.
