Help Rick beat prostate cancer
First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this, secondly I would like to apologize in advance as my thoughts are a bit scattered. I never thought i would be making one of these accounts, especially not for my dad.
Let me start by saying that Rick Thayer is one of the most heartfelt men you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. He is your best man, high school sweetheart, front man, but for me and my sister he is the greatest dad and papa.
A long time employee of Reasor’s Grocery, as a meat cutter in Claremore, Oklahoma he helps serve the community with its most vital supplies. My father never missed one day of work in the beginning of the year when COVID hit. He went to work despite all of the unknowns because he new people depended on him, and that’s just the type of person he is. He would give the shirt off his back and never ask for a dime, ever.
Now he needs our help. At the end of September Rick was taken to the ER by his wonderful girlfriend Gina. He was then to receive a Catheter, and follow up with his dr. Now a month later and a biopsy we have received the news that we were dreading, he has advanced stage prostate cancer. As you can imagine this news is heart crushing, but he is STRONG and can do this with OUR help during his time with treatments and healing.
Playing guitar and singing is something my father is known widely for. His voice has brought families and friends together, and has help them through the toughest times. Now it’s our turn to help him. He has already been out of workfor over a month, medical and other bills are already Piling up. He has recently been approved for temporary disability but the money hasn’t come through yet.
We all know 2020 has been tough on everyone, especially financially, but if you could spare even a couple of dollars I would be so appreciative, As I know the cost of medical care. Even a share or some kind words of encouragement would mean the world. The last thing he needs to worry about it money, he needs to be able to focus on his health. He still has a whole life that he hasn’t lived yet..and to be papa to his grandbabies.
“Lean on me when you’re not strong
and I’ll be your friend, I’ll help you carry on”
