Please Help Rick & Susan Rebuild After Wildfire Loss

My name is Jo, and I am a student at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California.

So many people in California have suffered unimaginable and devastating losses due to the recent wildfires.

One of these is Rick Schmunk, a friend, mentor, and chair of the Music Technology program at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. As well as Rick’s wife, Susan, a former USC professor and music therapist. The Schmunk’s home and studio have sadly burned down.

Professor Schmunk is one of the most kind-hearted people, always trying to find ways to support his students. In 2015, he spearheaded the creation of the Music Production program. Since then, he’s worked tirelessly to create an atmosphere of excellence by building professional recording studios, securing top-tier gear, and inviting notable guest speakers—all while keeping students at the center.

For years, he has inspired countless students to follow their dreams and work diligently on their craft.
