Help Rickey's Family Lay Him to Rest

In loving memory of Rickey Lee Elliott 6/21/47 - 12/15/2024.
Rickey passed away on Monday December 15th after a lengthy battle with a long list consisting of 27 different life ending conditions such as COPD, emphysema, heart failure, liver failure, cirrhosis of the liver, among several other infliction. He died as a result of these illnesses. Rickey passed away in his home surrounded by the love of family, friends, and his dog... Blitz. From Vicella CA to Kanis city MI, to St Luis MI, to his final home of Reno NV... where he had resided for the last 30 years. Rickey was many things throughout his life... he was an honorable Marine who served for the United States in Vietnam. He was a skilled safe cracker that served time in America's roughest prisons. Through hardships, unfortunately Ricky had his struggles with addiction that took quiet a toll. Smoking was another costly habit... one that cut his time shorter in the end. He had three special women throughout his time here... Shirley, Pam, and Audry. He sure did live every day to the fullest... all the way up until the last couple days he was joking with us about "going out with a final trip to the club." However out of all that what he will be remembered for the most is that he was a loving, hilarious friend and family member deeply cared for by many. Ricky lives on through by his nephew Timmy Nelson, daughter Amy Jo Ford, niece Christiana Hill, great niece Mariah Reed, great niece Aaliyah Reed, and his nephew Braxton Garcia. It was per Rickeys wishes to be cremated and for his remains distributed to family appropriately. It is also his request not to be put to rest through the VA or other veteran assistance programs. Christiana Hill has been entrusted with the final task. Unfortunately leaving the single mother of two alone with this responsibility and everything it entails. I am a close friend of hers and Rickey trying to help take some of the weight of her in these trying times. The Friday before his passing Rickey had told me that after everything he survived... the war, battles with addiction, time he had served in various penitentiaries... it was smoking that killed him. He hoped that "his passing could be used as a lesson that smoking isn't worth the years it cost"
We're asking for any help we can get to lay this veteran to rest with the respect he and his family deserves without putting extra hardship on his loving family. Thank you
