Help Riesel Police Chief Danny Krumnow

This story is close to my heart, so it's tough to write, but the Krumnow family needs our support because this is going to be a very long road for them.  On Friday, October 11th, 2019, our City of Riesel Police Chief, Danny Krumnow, was gravely injured in the line of duty.  He was assisting motorists in the rain when he and Falls County Sheriff Deputy, Matt Jones were struck by a car that hydroplaned and lost control.  Tragically, Matt Jones died at the scene and we are heartbroken for him and his family and are fervently praying for them.  Chief Krumnow was critically injured and flown by medical helicopter to Baylor Scott and White (Hillcrest) Hospital in Waco, and his injuries were so severe that they transported him to Temple Scott & White.  He is still in the ICU and has more surgeries ahead of him, but needs to regain strength before they can even be done.  He has had his spleen removed and they've done exploratory surgery.  He has a fractured back, and 9 broken ribs that will require surgery, a collapsed lung, leg/knee injuries and many other problems. He is still on a ventilator and is being kept sedated.  This is a life altering accident.  The road to recovery will be LONG and very hard.  Danny will most likely not be able to work again for a long time and his sweet wife Denise will not be able to work while she cares for him.  They have immediate needs for transportation costs and travel and living expenses during what will be a lengthy hospital stay and recovery and rehabilitation.  IF it is in your heart to help them out, I know how grateful they would be.  I'm going to be setting up a bank account for them tomorrow at Texas First State Bank and will update everyone with more details as I get them.  Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.  I know how quick Danny and his family are to help out others in need, and he has made an entire career out of serving others... but now, HE is the one in need and I hope that we can all join forces to return the favor and show him and Denise our love and support.  I did get Denise's permission to start this account for her and Danny, and I know it's hard to sometimes accept help from others, but she did agree to let me start this fund. My heart hurts for her because I know how terrified she is right now with all that she's going through and it's just impossible to not be overwhelmed by it all.  Please continue to pray for her and Danny over the next few weeks and months.  They have been through so much and they need all the prayers and love and support that we can give them.
