Help Ritu and Max Through This Difficult Time

As you may know, we lost our friend Phillip Detchmendy on July 11 after he had valiantly fought in intensive care for 5 months. Philip had been recovering from heart failure due to a preexisting heart condition and unfortunately had a stroke just days before being discharged from the facility where he was recovering.

Philip was a very generous and hyper-connected producer, a strong and committed bike rider, and above all a loving father, husband, and core West Coast Firefly founder who last rode a tour in 2021. His wife Ritu, was also the first-ever tour producer and is a commercial line producer. Even though some of you may have never ridden with Philip or Ritu, they are core to the success of the vibrant community and tour that we have here in Los Angeles.

He was a tremendous family man and was fiercely loyal to his friends. There was nothing Phillip wouldn't do for you if you needed him. His wife Ritu and son Max are on their own now and they need our help. We are raising some funds to help bridge the gap between now and when Ritu can go back to work. Any donation you can afford will help with medical bills and living expenses.

For over twenty years, the Fireflies, which Phillip was a vital member of, has given back to the community. It's our turn to step up for Phillip and his family.
