Help Rob and ReNae Jirak

Hello. My name is Ashley Tuma and I am the daughter of Rob and ReNae Jirak. My parents both became ill with what they thought were colds on October 25th. By the morning of October 28th their symptoms became more severe so they went to the mayo hospital in New Prague to be checked out. At that time they were both diagnosed with double covid pneumonia. They were put on oxygen and waited to be transferred to a hospital with open beds. They were both transferred that day to St Francis hospital in shakopee.
My mother spent the evening and greater part of the next day being treated with fluids, steroids, and oxygen. She was released at 3pm on the 29th.
My father's condition continued to decline. They had to continually raise his oxygen, steroids, and care. They decided on October 31st to transfer him into the SCU (specialty care unit) and eventually put him on a Cpap Machine to force the oxygen Into his lungs. Over the next week he continued to have good days and bad days. But ultimately remained stable.
On the morning of November 7th, after 1 week of being in the SCU, my mom got a phone call to get to the hospital. Upon arriving she was told that my dad became critically unstable over night and his oxygen and blood pressure continued to drop. They suggested it would be best to get him transferred to a larger hospital that has a larger and more diverse specialty care team as he will most likely be needing a ventilator to keep him stable.
We are still waiting to find a hospital bed available in an ICU with ventilators readily available. My dad is on a nationwide list so when one becomes available he will he transferred. I will update as we know more. At this time, I ask that you refrain from contacting my mom and give her the space she needs to absorb all this info.
This has not only been a very emotional journey for my mom but also has become a financial burden. I ask that if you are able to donate anything, even a dollar, anything will help to afford all these medical bills that will start coming soon. If you are unable to donate, I completely understand and ask that you share this and say a prayer for healing.
