Hi, everyone! My name is Rob, and I live in the Midwest. I have three beautiful children—one is is in college, while the other two are under 10 years old. I am responsible for most of their financial needs.
Unfortunately, I’m running out of options. I was laid off on June 5th from a short-term job, and before that, I worked for a company for two years until they, unfortunately, went out of business. Finding employment has been a challenge.
Recently, I was offered what seemed like the big break I’ve been hoping for. After completing everything necessary for the position, the hiring manager rescinded the offer just days before my start date. I was told this was due to my criminal record from 10 years ago, even though I had disclosed this information earlier in the process. Sadly, this isn’t a new experience for me—it's a difficult cycle I’ve been caught in for far too long.
I’ve applied for nearly 100 positions over the past three months and am now at a crossroads, seeking financial assistance to get my record sealed. I need help with one case, which includes covering old fines, new fees, and hiring a lawyer to address jurisdictional matters. For the other case, I plan to file pro se online if possible. Since I live in a different state, I estimate those fees will be around $200, based on the information I've found.
My goal is to raise $1,000 to cover all costs. Any amount of help is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
