Help Robert (Broom) Samaroo Recover

Hi, my name is Rosanna and alongside my cousins, sister and other family members we are fundraising for our dear Uncle Robert Samaroo; friend to many, cool and full of jokes uncle and grand-uncle, dedicated worker, gentle soul and always down to "lime".

On Easter weekend Robert suffered an unfortunate accident that left him paralyzed and completely dependent on caregivers. On March 28th when Rob or "Broom", as many people know him, came home from work, he lost consciousness while going down the stairs due to an undiagnosed underlying condition. His fall caused a severe neck injury that damaged his spine and left him paralyzed from the neck down. He was not discovered until the next day. It took the hospital until Sunday to reach his family where we were informed that he needed life-saving surgery.

He underwent intense cervical spine surgery by a Neurosurgeon at Trillium Hospital in Mississauga. At this time, we know that the process will be slow and although his level of mobility is still uncertain, we pray that the surgery will help Rob eventually regain a quality of life. He is currently hospitalized and bed-bound.

Robert came to Canada many years ago from Trinidad to pursue a better life. He was very active and was an avid cricketer. A lot of time, money and energy was spent with lawyers to get him status in Canada but unfortunately to no avail. Hence, this has left him with NO OHIP benefits (no health insurance) and he is in critical need of medical help NOW.

Please help Robert on his road to recovery by helping cover his medical expenses including surgery, post-operative tests, hospital and ambulance fees, physical therapy, medications, medical devices, support workers and doctor visits to ensure his well-being. We need your help now as his medical bills are piling up and we want to ensure he is well taken care of. Your generosity will go 100% toward his care and rehabilitation.
