Army Veteran in a near fatal crash needs your help

My name is Alesia Johnson. I am the fiancée of Army Veteran and City of Detroit Bus Driver Robert Glenn, who on December 7, 2024, was involved in a life-threatening accident while his shift was coming to an end.

This accident occurred just mere hours after I received the news that my mother had passed away after a short fight with pancreatic cancer. Robert was ejected through the window of the bus head first after a wrong-way driver on the freeway hit the bus he was driving and burst into flames. He suffered a concussion, fractured ribs, bilateral leg fractures of his femurs, his tibia suffered a severe break which caused it to pierce through his skin and loss of bone, he has titanium rods placed in both of his legs, and a gash to his head.

The recovery process will be a long battle in which it’s going to take lots of time away from being able to work for myself and Mr. Glenn. Ultimately, he will never walk the same way again. Life is on pause as we know it as it relates to our physical. However, life of living has a cost that doesn’t pause. I’ve been by his side every single day except for the day of my mother’s memorial service. I watch him struggle to do things he once did effortlessly. I’ve watched him have nightmares in which he says he can’t get the image of the lights coming at him before crashing into him. The thing that hurts the most is the shedded tears I have to continuously wipe away because he feels worthless, helpless, and weak. He’s worried and stressed about the things outside of his recovery.
