Help Roberta Get Urgent Medical Care

I'm George, an old friend and krewe brother to Roberta, and I am asking for your help. After three years of suffering a progressive and debilitating illness hope is in sight, but she needs your help. Her ailment has left her unable to work except for a small amount of freelance, and the situation is becoming dire.

The total request is $2500 to pay for car repair and to cover the medical expenses that aren't covered by insurance. Without the car she is unable to access medical care and her physical situation will continue to deteriorate.

To make matters worse, she was recently forced out of her home of 12 years when her lawyer ex-husband sold it out from under her, while knowing the health battle she is fighting. This led to chaos as she suddenly had to relocate with no funds and little notice to a rural area outside of New Orleans. Now she is in an area that has no public transit or medical transport services.

After years of fighting the broken health care system of Louisiana there are finally specialist appointments becoming available that could get her healthy again, but without a car she cannot get to them. She has found a mechanic that will do the work for a discount, but there is a lot of work to do after years of driving on the lunar landscape of New Orleans streets. Any funds left over from the repairs will be used to defray medical costs not covered by insurance.

Roberta is a very private person, and I have only just been able to convince her to let our community help. She promises to pay it forward once her health is back. All indicators show that a pair of surgeries will be able to fix the issues, but she needs to get to them first.
