Help Robin and Family Through Medical Crisis

Donation protected
*Update: 11/13/24 Doctors have confirmed evidence of multiple heart attacks. As of yesterday because of her lack of mobility and her recent slip into Sun Downers disease they have deemed open heart surgery too big a risk at this point. Surgeons have come from all over to consult Boos health scare and have decided that she will under go heart caths by placing 2 stents in the 2 worst heart valves and then after she recovers from this they will bring her in on an outpatient basis to do the 3rd stent.
After the stents are completed, Boo will begin the journey for her bulging discs in her back so she can be more mobile and actually stand up straight.
While Boo is going through the above her cardiac team will do weekly appointments to keep an eye on her aneurysms and heart stints.
Further down the road after the back surgery, Boo will hopefully be able to receive the triple bypass open heart surgery to truly repair her heart versus what they are doing now.*

Hi! My name is Sasha, the daughter of Murri and Robin. This past week, Robin had a fall, and while talking to her on the phone from Los Angeles, I heard her groan in pain. I asked what was wrong, and she told me that she had chest pain from her fall. I immediately called my mom, Murri, who was on her way to the grocery store and turned her around to take Robin to the ER to get X-rays to make sure she didn’t break a rib. The amazing doctor in the ER told my parents that nothing was broken, but he did find TWO aneurysms stacked in her heart! She went home that evening, having already had a heart appointment set for the next morning. That night, she had a wild episode where she did not recognize her own home or my mom, Murri. The next morning, we had planned for her to go to the heart doctor and then to the mental health doctors. Next thing we knew, her heart doctor had her rushed to the hospital because she had 3 of 4 pathways blocked in her heart, and she was bleeding into her chest every time her heart pumped because of the blockage. I jumped on a plane and arrived in Georgia about 7 hours later. We have been on 24-hour rotations here at the hospital, keeping her company and helping keep her in the bed as she does get confused and wants to go home and tries to leave. We are currently awaiting her doctor teams to decide how and in what order they will perform her 3 surgeries: a triple bypass, aneurysm surgery, and surgery on her back.

This has quickly become a financial drain on myself and my parents as we have to eat out for every meal, pay for gas back and forth, and help take care of the dogs and house. I am personally unable to work being here from Los Angeles, but I have been trying to find odd jobs. In lieu of flowers or any other gifts, the main thing our family could benefit from is donations, no matter how small! Every cent helps us eat, have the means to travel, and keep our overhead bills paid. We are usually the helpers; however, it’s finally time that we need to ask for help ourselves. Please help how you can or share this story. I do not yet have a return ticket to LA as I don’t know how long this process will be taking. So far, it’s at least a few weeks. I will not leave my moms alone in this.

With LOVE and APPRECIATION, Sasha, Murri, and Robin.

UPDATE: My original post reflects a lot of high emotion. I am doing this update to explain more in detail of the road ahead for my moms and I. <3
Issues at hand:
1. for the last 3 years Robin has been dealing with bulging discs in her back. She was being treated and prepping for this surgery before her fall.
2. after Robin fell she went to the ER for an MRI and the Dr found a double stacked sacral aneurysms on her heart. Drs are not sure if Robin has had a heart attack or if these aneurysms are from the trauma of her falling 2x.
3. while in ER for the double stacked aneurysms we found out that 3 out of 4 valves to her heart are fully blocked. With this diagnosis last Friday the Drs attempted to put a catheter /stints in but were unsuccessful and decided her best route would be a triple by pass surgery.
This is 3 surgeries Robin will be enduring within a short period of time in hopes to regain her vitality and zest for life back. If she was to do them separately then here recovery could be up to 3 years. Going this route enables her to heal from all 3 in a 10-18 month time period.

Now Robin is looking at 3 back to back surgeries. Both her cardio and neurological teams have come together to create the best surgical route and healing route for her.

Both Robin and Murri are retired and on fixed incomes the next 2 years there will be a lot of extra expense and we are hoping between our family, friends and loved ones that we can all help through this. Going forward these are some of the items Robin will need etc,

*around the clock care once she is released to go home. A Nurse will come in a few times a week to check her vitals etc. Robin will also need Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy.
Robins does have insurance, however these 3 complex surgeries will max out her yearly benefits.

*we would like to start a meal train when she is discharged to enable Murri to focus on caring for her vs cooking.

*Robin will also need a rolling walker, a wheel chair, motorized scooter, medical bed and necessities, small ramps installed for her to use her wheel chair, leg compression kit to keep blow flow while laying down.

*funds for gas to multiply weekly appts, medicines, check ups/follow ups to both drs, medical transports, co-pays,

My Moms and I appreciate everyone for helping us in our time of need. Even if you can’t donate as times are rough for everyone please share!!!
