My father, Robin Davis, is single-handedly the most influential person on this planet to me. As a 4-year United States Air Force combat veteran, 13-year police officer, and 30-year construction worker, my father was raised to earn a living with his hands. This man is the most selfless person I have ever met. Known for never having a filter, my dad has and always will be known for telling things the way he sees them. Never shying away from honesty, he showed me above all else, to always keep your word, as the truth is sometimes uglier then a lie.
From chasing down pedophiles, rescuing countless domestic abuse victims, and saving my siblings and I from our abusive biological father, MY DAD IS A HERO! Knowing that he would NEVER approve of something like this, my brother and I have come together to ask all our friends and family for help, because sometimes the hero needs saving too.
In April earlier this year, he was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Since his diagnosis, it has been a jugging act for all members of my family to keep things afloat. Between lengthy chemo treatments, pneumonia, and multiple surgeries, my father has continued to go to work to pay for the never-ending medical bills that keep stacking up/. But not just any work, he continues to put himself in harms way working security at the most dangerous medical facility in Peoria, IL. That is, until a couple of weeks ago. Although my dad continues to try to go to work (which he is not in the condition for), the latest development of double pneumonia and multiple blood clots in his lungs has forced his doctor to decline his return.
As this is a man who at times worked 3 or 4 part time jobs to make ends meet, this has stifled my parents monthly income. It needs to be known that my dad has zero influence over this, and in fact, has no idea I am making this fundraiser. He prides himself over always being self reliant, and would never choose to do this on his own. Being stationed overseas, I can only help so much. I am hoping that through this page, friends and family can come together to show their support and love for Robin Davis.
