Help Robin, my mother, get back on her feet
Donation protected
For those that know me, know that it is difficult for me to ask for outside help.
I’m a survivor. I get that from my mom. If you describe someone as a survivor, you approve of the fact that they are able to carry on with their life even though they experience many difficulties.
My mother, Robin, is strong, she’s bold and she doesn’t like to be vulnerable. I know that we all can relate to the latter.
We know that the fire started from an apparent electrical problem from old wiring on one of the meters on the side of the house that caused sparks and eventually a fire. It then proceeded through to the upstairs, right where my mother lays her head at night. Fortunately, it happened during the day when she was working and nobody was hurt. We are so thankful for that.
Yesterday, on April 10th, we went to where her and Aunt Karla's home once stood untouched, to try and salvage some of her personal items. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I found myself protecting her from seeing the burnt picture books, heirlooms, clothes.….memories.
We were able to find some family photos. Everything that was untouched by the fire and water damage fit into one car. It's so shocking to see how quickly one moment can change someone's life. Again, we are so grateful my mother, Karla and the animals are safe.
I want to do as much as possible to help out my mother and Karla.
I just set up this fundraiser because they could definitely use some financial assistance to address some of the complex aspects of the situation. The money would help in this long period the insurance will take to pay and also the adjusters fees and more.
My mom is staying with family and friends in the meanwhile but doesn’t want to burden. This fund will help pay for rent, furniture, clothes and anything else needed.
Please know any financial help at this point is greatly appreciated and will help them get back on their feet. Any donation for their tragedy is extremely helpful, whether it be financial or simply sharing this link with your friends and family on Facebook, social media or email.
Thank you for your support and prayers.
