Help Rocky Afford Treatment

Hi, Rocky is a two year old twin cat who has recently become really unwell. He had a fever and wasn’t himself so we took him to the vets who gave him some antibiotics. He then reacted to these antibiotics causing his creatinine levels to jump. We didn’t know at the time that the antibiotics were the reason for this, we kept him in for fluids but his creatinine levels still increased. We then took him to the vet hospital because he wasn’t improving whatsoever. They also noticed a heart murmur in him which they said was unusual for a cat his age.
The vet hospital completed scans and blood tests, kept him in for fluids urine tests etc. they told us his kidney levels are improving but that he has cardiomyopathy which they very rarely see in cats his age.
we took Rocky home and he was fine for two days until all of a sudden he couldn’t walk properly. Rocky began to scream everytime he walked and started limping. We took him to the vet hospital who said it isn’t anything to be concerned about as he wasn’t crying with them. We took him home that night and he begun to scream even louder than the first time. We took him back first thing the next morning and they got him seen by neurology and the orthopaedic team to see what was going on with him. They said to bring him back the next day for a CT of his lower limbs.
we bought Rocky back the next day and had the scan done on him as well as having fluids taken from him. At this point Rocky was struggling to walk on both legs and would scream whenever he tried to move. The scans showed inflammation and the fluids have shown a very rare condition called immune-mediated polyarthritis. This is a disease mainly seen in dogs and very rarely in cats, especially his age.
unfortunately, we are reaching the end of our threshold with Rocky’s insurance. Rocky is only covered up to £10,000 and we have already spent £9700+ on him.
Rocky is a twin and he is a beautiful loving baby, he’s normally so full of life and so energetic. He’s more like a child than he is a cat and our family are so heartbroken right now seeing him the way he is. We’re trying to manage his pain with opioids given by the vet’s but we know he still has a long way to go yet, he’s currently finding comfort lying in his litter tray and sleeps the whole day because if he tries to walk it’ll hurt him.
We can only pray that he recovers with the treatment they give him but we need your help with it too. Any type of donation counts, little or large , please help support Rocky’s recovery❤️
