Help Rocky Walk Again: Support His Urgent Spinal Surgery

Dear Friends,

Thank you for being here and taking the time to read Rocky’s story—a story of love, hope, and second chances. Rocky came into my life after enduring heartbreak and abandonment, but now he’s facing an even bigger challenge: recovering from a devastating accident that left him with a spinal fracture.

My name is Ana, and on December 12th, 2024, I found Rocky, a beautiful, loving dog who had been wandering around my neighborhood all alone for an entire month. His family had abandoned him, and while so many people tried to help, Rocky was too scared to let anyone come close.

Every night, he slept under the same tree alone and scared, so decided to visit him every day, bringing food and just sitting near him, hoping he’d begin to trust me. Slowly but surely, Rocky started letting his guard down.

One morning, something incredible happened: I found Rocky waiting for me in front of my house and that was it—he chose me, and we became family. From that moment on, everything began to change. The light came back into his eyes, and with love and patience, Rocky began to realize that he could let his guard down and begin to love and trust again. He was no longer alone.

Rocky quickly became a symbol of second chances for everyone who met him. On our walks, neighbors would stop us to say how amazed they were by how far he’d come. Because they saw how just a few weeks of love and kindness had completely transformed a dog that many had given up on.

But now, Rocky needs a second chance more than ever.

On January 7th, something I never could’ve imagined happened. While at the groomer’s, Rocky escaped and was hit by a car. When I got the call, I felt my heart shatter. After only a month together, I couldn’t believe this was happening.

By some miracle, Rocky survived. But the accident left him with a spinal fracture that’s made it nearly impossible for him to walk. His surgeons told me the only way for him to recover and live a happy, full life is through spinal surgery, and it needs to happen as soon as possible.

I’ve been doing everything I can to take care of Rocky, but the cost of the surgery is more than I can handle alone. This is why I’m reaching out and asking for your help.
