Help Rodney Renteria, Jr. say goodbye to his Mom

Hello, this is Rod Renteria, Sr., and I'm starting this GoFundMe to help my oldest son, Rodney Jr. with expenses related to his Mom's untimely passing.

Rodney’s mom, Alicia Douglas, just passed away unexpectedly last week (5/3/23). Rodney has lived in San Diego with Alicia since his senior year in high school except for a short stint a few years ago when they relocated to North Carolina. They both moved back a little over a year ago, and were sharing an apartment in downtown San Diego. After a few weeks in the hospital for a pre-existing condition, things took a turn for the worse and a few short days later Rodney had the unfortunate task of saying goodbye to his Mom. He is now solely responsible for all the planning and costs of laying her to rest in addition to making arrangements to move into a smaller, more affordable place in the next month. During the time they were in NC, Rodney took classes in hopes of changing careers from butcher/customer service to IT Data Security. He did find a job in the IT field upon returning to SD, but as he's still fairly new to the field, he's still in the process of working his way up to the higher paying positions so money is tight and as we all probably know, funerals/etc are VERY expensive.

We're hoping your financial support can help alleviate some of the stress for him and allow him to focus on doing right by his mom and giving her a proper goodbye.
