Help Rodrigo Fight for His Life After Racing Accident

Dear Family, Friends, and Kind Supporters,
My name is Fredy, and I am the uncle of Rodrigo Taleno — a loving, respectful, and kind-hearted 17-year-old. Rodrigo is an outstanding student, a devoted son, and an incredible young man who is always willing to help others. He is also a talented athlete and a passionate competitor in the world of motorsports. Rodrigo is a Guatemalan national champion and a Central American karting champion, having started racing at just 7 years old.
Today, our family is facing an unimaginable hardship. On Friday, March 21, 2025, while preparing for an upcoming competition at the Los Volcanes Pedro Cofiño racetrack, scheduled for Sunday, March 23, Rodrigo was involved in a tragic and serious accident that left him fighting for his life. He is currently in a coma and in intensive care. The impact of the accident caused severe injuries — he underwent surgery to repair a fractured femur in his right leg and sustained a traumatic head injury that resulted in brain swelling and multiple blood clots.
Every day, Rodrigo is fighting the toughest race of his life in the ICU. As he continues this fight, the hospital bills continue to grow, creating an overwhelming financial burden for his parents. Alongside the heartbreak of seeing their son in this condition, they are also facing the crushing weight of mounting medical expenses.
Today, from the bottom of my heart, I am asking for your support. Any contribution, big or small, will help ease the financial strain on Rodrigo’s parents and give our family hope during this incredibly difficult time. More than anything, we want to see Rodrigo wake up, heal, and return to the bright, loving young man we all know and cherish.
Thank you for taking the time to read Rodrigo’s story. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean the world to us.
With gratitude,
Fredy Taleno
