Help Roel "teddy bear" Mata fight stage 4 Cancer

Hello my name is Sandy my older brother Roel Mata was recently diagnosed with Colon Cancer stage 4 on June 28, 2023 .
- After visiting his family doctor for an annual check up on June 1, 2023 he was recommended to a colon specialist where he recieved a colonoscopy test on June 19th. Result came back showing he had a mass on his sigmoid colon. CT scans were ordered for June 26th showing the severity and spread of the tumor. On June 28th the news hit home CT scan biopsy and pathology report came back he was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.
- On June 31st he started with blood transfusions
- July 3rd he will have his surgery performed to remove the tumor and will start chemo 3 weeks after.
Despite it all, Roel's spirits remain positive and optimistic.
Roel is the type of person that will always lend his support and attention to you in a time of need. He is the friend and family you could always count on in times of need. He has worked in the medical field for over 15 years. He has provided services throughout the Rio grande Valley.
When the panademic hit he worked numerous (40+) of hours to help patients get their medication needs due to shortage of pharmacy technicians.
Despite the risk of contracting covid he put others life's at first and never missed a day of work.
