Help Rome Samaritans keep listening
Donation protected
Rome Samaritans are listening. Now more than ever.
Rome Samaritans listen to people suffering isolation, sadness, loss and fear. People struggling with the loss of human connection. People faced with job insecurity, relationship breakdown and bereavement. People considering suicide.
We listen to people facing mental health issues for the first time and to many whose longstanding anxiety, stress and depression have increased. As a result of the pandemic many people have been left with significant problems and feel traumatised.
We don’t have the answer but we’ll support the decisions callers make. Our helpline works hard to provide emotional support to those in distress, who have no one to talk to. We don’t judge or advise. We simply listen, to share pain and suffering. We listen, because being able to say what we’re feeling out loud and being heard can make the difference.
Our expenses are minimal - the rent and running of a tiny office and our telephone bill. We have no staff costs as we are all volunteers. We carry out an annual training course for our new volunteers and we need to promote our services.
We are asking you for help now. Your contribution will help us to continue to listen to those who need to speak. It will help keep our phone lines open. Your support will help us with publicity and training to strengthen our group. And it will help us to continue to be there when someone needs us, to listen.
