Memorial expenses for Ron “Papa” Wilcox

Hi! Last year we found out that my papa Ron Wilcox was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Lung Disease and was told if he didn’t get a lung transplant he didn’t have much time to live. In order to get on the transplant list he had to meet a bunch of requirements, a few weeks ago he was finally placed on the list. He went in for a single lung transplant September 8, 2023. He is currently in the ICU and what we thought would be 5 days, they told us yesterday that they are thinking he will be in ICU for two weeks, along with a lengthy hospital stay and rehab stay. His wife Linda is staying in a hotel across the street from the hospital so she can be close incase of any emergencies. Being in downtown Chicago is extremely expensive. We are hoping to raise money to help my papa and Linda with expenses - hotel stay, parking and food. Any extra money will be used towards his medical bills because as you can imagine having a lung transplant is not cheap and insurance only covers so much! If you could also say a prayer for the donors family as they go through this difficult time, their tragedy was a blessing for our family! We love and appreciate all of you! ❤️
